Amazon Certified Frustration-Free Packaging

Earlier this month, I ordered The Brick Bible books and a red tricycle for Noah. My husband’s boss was visiting Manila from the US so we asked if he could bring the stuff. I placed my orders on a Monday, they arrived on the address the next day because I chose the One-Day Shipping option, and by Friday night, the items were in my hands.

Ordering at Amazon was easy and efficient. It’s a bit different from buying from eBay but is as convenient. This was the first time I ordered directly from Amazon which meant the items I purchased would be coming from Amazon warehouse and not from the sellers. Those are two different things unlike in eBay where you would be buying directly from the sellers.

Amazon offered free shipping on the items for Prime members. I forgot where exactly I chose the Frustration-Free Packaging option but I chose that one. I heard about this “greener” option offered by Amazon years ago but it’s only now that I got to see how Amazon packaged the items.

It’s true. Frustration-free as the books didn’t come in a big box or excessive packaging, they came wrapped in plastic and with a cardboard to hold them.

As for the trike which was bulky, it came in its own packaging. It was only in the SFO airport where it was packed in a bigger box–twice its size! Continue reading Amazon Certified Frustration-Free Packaging

[Bangkok] Cath Kidston in Thailand

One of the brands I super love is Cath Kidston. I fell in love with the vintagefeel and floral prints of the items. I learned about the company from Daphne. It was the first time I liked flower prints since I used to hate them. I guess I’m getting old. I used to cringe at the thought of flowery fabric and thought it was too girly. And then when I learned about Cath Kidston, I changed my mind.

I couldn’t find Cath Kidston in Manila two years ago. I searched eBay for Cath Kidston bags and bought these two.

Cath Kidston Oil-cloth Floral Bags

I use these two oil-cloth waterproof bags often because they’re very feminine and are waterproof.  Imagine my excitement when my sister told me that Cath Kidston was opening in Bangkok, Thailand. Finally, a store I could actually visit someday. It opened earlier this year. Right now, there are three stores in Bangkok. I happened to visit two: Cath Kidston Mega Bangna and a section in Siam Paragon Mall.

What’s a Washi Tape?

Washi tape? Ano yun? I’f you’re one of the millions asking what a washi tape is…let me tell you it’s just a pretty masking tape. Kikay masking tape.

I first saw rolls of cute washi tape in Bangkok. I bought a few although I didn’t know what to do with them. A roll is a bit pricey but like all cutesy stuff, washi tape is cute. The kind of stuff where you would waste your hard-earned money (like shoes, bags, etc.). I haven’t bought a roll of Washi Tape here in Manila but I’m familiar with a few sellers.

What can you do with a WASHI TAPE?

If you’re into DIYs….Do-It-Yourself not do-it-yaya… you’ll find a roll so helpful. Cut and paste. Tapos.

I saw this on Pinterest:

HOW MUCH IS A WASHI TAPE? A roll costs about a hundred. Medyo mahal. Continue reading What’s a Washi Tape?

Teardrops on My Guitar

This isn’t anything about Taylor Swift. Nothing about teardrops on my new guitar either but I almost cried when Noah hit the new guitar less than 30 minutes after I brought it home. He was the one who cried because I was shocked and I was keeping myself from shouting. Oh well….it’s not his fault anyway.

I bought that guitar. Husband and I almost forgot about the Handog Sale of Yupangco this year. I went on the last day, on the last hour–October 31 at around 5PM. The store closes at 6PM and I went out of the house at 4pm. Traffic was already heavy along Shaw Blvd. After 15 minutes or so of walking and hailing a cab, I got one. On  my way, I discovered the ARQ Curtain Bodega Sale which got me excited.

I knew what I wanted to buy so I just asked one of the guys there for the Washburn guitar on sale. He led me to the area where guitars in boxes are stacked on top of each other. New shipment came in the morning according to him. He tested the guitar and off we went to the cashier to pay.

While at the cashier, I asked one of the employees if they know Mae. I told the lady that Mae replied to my blog. And then she remembered, “Ay ma’am kayo pala yun.” Then she started telling the other guys. The sales guy who assisted me said he read my entry. It was cool that Yupangco staff remembered. I was so happy!

I also bought a pair of NOVA drumsticks by Vic Firth for the little boy and new Fender strings for the husband. 😀

Ay, sorry ang labo…excited lang.
Dun..dun..dun..dun..
Di na pwedeng bumili eh…

Lego Shell Ferrari Philippines Promo

Since Noah is in his LEGO phase, I want to share all things Lego or at least those that I know and have. I have bought tons of Lego bricks for the little boy already– both LEGO mini bricks and LEGO Duplo bricks. All those were purchased second-hand from my trusted Facebook and eBay sellers. I can say that Noah has enough already. But for now, he couldn’t play with them yet so Daddy and Mommy are the ones enjoying the bricks.

And recently, I’m fascinated with the LEGO Minifigs (uh oh…). This I have to stop myself from buying because I still haven’t recovered from my Playmobil addiction. The thing with some parents, toy shopping is actually enjoyed more by them…by us. Well, between me and my husband, that would be me enjoying every time we go to Toy Kingdom or Toys R US. I could spend hours inside just checking the toys both for the girls and boys–Barbie, Sylvanian Family, Disney Toys, Hello Kitty, Tomica, Matchbox, LEGO, etc.

I bought the LEGO Bible books last month. This November, I’m targeting the Lego Shell Ferrari Promo. Problem is, we don’t have a car so we don’t go to Shell to gas up. My in-laws only go to Petron. I don’t know how else I’m gonna get the LEGO Cars because everyone I know is also collecting.

The Ferrari 150° Italia, the Scuderia Ferrari Truck, the Ferrari 458 Italia, the FXX, the F40, and the 250 GT Berlinetta

How to avail of the LEGO Shell Ferrari Model Promo:

Simple lang. For every P1,500 of any Shell V-Power Nitro+ fuel, you can buy a model for P180.

This means you need to spend P10,080 to get all LEGO Ferrari models from Shell.

P1,500 + 180 multiplied by 6 =  P10,080

Magastos. I think I’ll just wait for someone to sell a complete set on eBay or Sulit. :p

Mom 24/7 Planner: The Ultimate Mom Planner by Mommy Mundo

Since we’re talking about 2013 planners, might as well feature this one made especially for the moms: the Mom 24/7 Planner. This has got to be the most special because this one is for the moms, created by the moms. Para sa mga mother, nanay, inay, made, mommy, mama, momma, at mudra like me.

I have the 2012 Mom 24/7 Planner which I got only around July. I was curious so I bought one when I applied for the Mommy Mundo Passport (an exclusive card for the moms).

As with the other 2013 planners I’m getting for next year, I’m getting this Ultimate Mom Planner at the Mommy Mundo Bazaar at Rockwell this weekend, November 24 and 25. Another planner? Yep. I’m doing a research. Seriously. And since I’m a Mommy Mundo Passport Holder, I’m getting this one for FREE! Yehey!

Modern Vintage Pillows

I went to ARQ Curtains’ Bodega Sale earlier this afternoon and I went crazy shopping for curtains and pillowcases! I finally completed the Modern Vintage Collection. I bought several pairs of curtains under the CORTINA Line and new throw pillow cases. Why, their P500 pillowcases were down to P100! I’m not kidding! The curtains they usually sell for P1,000 per panel are down to P400….lowest was P150. I think only a few will understand this craziness. Pillows and curtains? Aanhanin ko yun. If you’re a true-blue homemaker, you’d understand. Thank God I have a husband who understands why I love such stuff and appreciates our home. 🙂

I’ll post more photos soon of the Bodega Sale. You can still score great quality curtains at such affordable prices. PS: I got lots of freebies from the sale too. The Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe pillows I wanted to buy were given as gifts from the owner Sir Alex. Thank you, sir!!! I saw the Jackie O. on display and bought one.

Kushies Travel Bag

I’ve been meaning to write about our recent travel to Bangkok but I’ve been busy with so many things. I don’t think I’ll slow down anytime soon because Christmas is just around the corner. Anyway, before we left I posted a photo of our stuff I was packing before our trip:

Some of my friends asked me about these bags. It’s a travel/baby/diaper bag by Kushies. I bought this set more than two years ago from Shop Familia. What you see above are the different small bags that can be found inside the Kushies bag. Continue reading Kushies Travel Bag

[Infographic] SPAS 101 by looloo

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said I love infographics. I featured a few already. The Kapitolyo Fearless Foodie Guide started it all. And then the Tagalog Mozilla Philippines Firefox 3 infographic and of course, the popular Cost of Starbucks Planner 2013 infographic by MyManila.net

Here’s another one:

SPAS 101 by looloo.com | Art by Kitkat Pecson

I know it’s long pero I’m sure talagang tinitigan mo to. Haha! I love the colors and the graphics. This one is perfect for the spa lovers out there. You see, day spas have mushroomed all over the metro but only a few are popular. I’m only familiar with The Spa and The Island Spa in Jupiter Makati as I used to go there. Honestly, I don’t enjoy going to spas because instead of being relaxed, nabubugbog ako! LOL! That’s just me. I guess I really don’t know the science behind or the art of spa. Husband has been wanting to go. We were in Bangkok last week but we failed to experience an authentic Thai spa. We were too busy hanging out with the family at home. 🙂

This infographic might help me understand and yeah, discover what day spa in Manila to try. It’s the spa version of the foodie map I featured a few weeks back. All the information can be found on the yet-to-be-released looloo app. Speaking of which, have you signed-up?

If you’re a foodie or a spa lover, you need to have the app. It’s not available on the App Store yet but soon. 🙂

Get notified when the mobile app launches HERE.

I’m excited!
